I have 2 questions...

I have a E4 platinum...which doesnt boot, there is something with the rom....

I also have a 6400Ultra with 4../1?

What are the options I have....the Platinum boots well with the rom from the Ultra...so probably i need a new rom?

Hmm that file is also missing from the files that Creative have put back online. It is supposed to be available at http://www.creative.com/emu/support/downloads/legacy/download.aspx?d=40, but when I went to that URL I got a page not found error message.

If anyone has that file, please let me know and I will put it up here.

I was in trouble for two days with ubuntu 11.10 and openembedded stable/2009 branch
this hint helped me to fix it by changing:
-Dldflags="${LDFLAGS}" \
To:
-Dldflags="${LDFLAGS} -Wl,--no-as-needed -lpthread -lm" \
I hope it helps someone just like this article helped me

I've been told that there's a way to upgrade from EOS 3.x to 4,x for the e-64.
But by replacing the ROM; is that true, and if so, where could i get a hold of the required gear?

The main difference between our formulas is simply that I have been expressing an interest rate in a slightly different form to yours (e.g. 6.25% as 1.0625). Your formula handles the conversion between percentage and multiplier which makes it a bit more involved - but perhaps more useful.

I've obviously not been anywhere near clear enough about what's going on here so I will update the post in due course. As this article was intended to clarify some incorrect information on the internet, its super important that I don't go on to confuse others!

Confusing. Let AnnualInterestRate = 6.25%, exp(log(6.25)/365) = 1.005033% which is clearly incorrect. It isn't correct if you do 0.0625 either.

From what I can tell, the correct formula is:

DailyInterestRate = ((1+(AnnualInterestRate/100)) ^ (1/365.0) - 1) * 100

Where the AnnualInterestRate = 6.25 for example for 6.25%, which gives a rate of 0.0166%

If you take 55,000 + 55,000 * (6.25 / 100) you get 58,437. This is an annual rate of 6.25%. If you then take 55,000 and apply compounding interest of 0.0166% 365 times, you also get 58,437.

I suspect you have the right formula in there somewhere, but since your post is fairly high on google now it made sense to post my findings.

Everytime I try and restore the EMU images to floppy, I get an error 9 in the DOS prompt, the floppys are fine, tested, going mad here, cant find an answer anywhere, anyone help please?

Correct - the patches rely on samples which are in a particular sound bank. Different proteus modules come with different rom sound banks, so in general you cannot copy patches from one Proteus module to a different one. It would require the sound rom to be placed into each. So for example if you put a proteus 2000 sound bank (the composer rom) inside your turbo phatt, then you would be able to use patches from the proteus 2000 in it.

WOULD YOU PLEASE GUIDE ME OUT THIS PROBLEM( I CALL IT "DUMP SOUNDING PATCH SET RECEIVED") ?
WHEN I USE MIDIQUEST XL 10.5 ON PC TO LOAD PROTEUS 2000 FAMILY FILES SYX/MID DOWNLOADED ON INTERNET INTO MY EMU TURBO PHATT (UPDATED OS V2.26), TRANSFERING WAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY ! I HAVE GOT ALL THE NAMES OF ALL PATCHES IN SET IN THE USER SECTION OF THE TURBO PHATT. WHEN I PLAY EVERY USER PATCH THAT THE TURBO PHATT RECEIVED( VIA A MIDI KEYBOARD), WHAT I HAD GOT IS JUST A TOTAL SILENT SOUND PATCH SET! ( MIDI CHANNEL = 1, SYSEX ID = 000 CHECKED!)
HOW DO I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?
DOES EMU RESTRICT THE CROSS TRANSFERING THE SOUND PATCH SET SYX/MIDI FILES AMONG THE PROTEUS FAMILY MODULES?
