It turned out that there was <a title=\"a security flag that needed to be cleared\" href=\"http:\/\/forum.sysinternals.com\/topic4403_page1.html\">a security flag that needed to be cleared<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_help_problem.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18\" title=\"procmon_help_problem\" src=\"http:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_help_problem.png\" alt=\"ProcMon Help Problem\" width=\"742\" height=\"486\" srcset=\"https:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_help_problem.png 742w, https:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_help_problem-300x196.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To do this, I browsed to the directory where I had installed procmon and opened the .chm file which caused the following dialogue to appear: <a href=\"http:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_security_warning.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17\" title=\"procmon_security_warning\" src=\"http:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_security_warning.png\" alt=\"ProcMon Security Warning\" width=\"414\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_security_warning.png 414w, https:\/\/francisfisher.me.uk\/problem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/procmon_security_warning-300x224.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I unchecked the \"Always ask before opening this file\" box, and then when I accessed the help from within process monitor, I was able to view the help file properly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you attempt to access the help file from within procmon on Windows Vista or Windows 7, its possible that windows may refuse to display the help file.
